Il cuore di Aurilium è rappresentato dal componente Lattice LC4064 CPLD e da un codec Philips a 24 bit con quattro canali in ingresso, più uno speciale per in input vocali, e sei canali in uscita. Il convertitore AD lavora a 100 KHz (50 KHz per il canale vocale) e i convertitori DA raggiungono i 200 KHz. Differentemente da quanto specificato in alcuni documenti, l'interfaccia di connessione è gestita da un controller TI TUSB3200 USB 1.1, evidentemente compatibile con USB 2.0.
