Memory Bandwidth Benchmark

Abbiamo modificato radicalmente la nostra suite di programmi benchmark per le prove. Ora ci affidiamo maggiormente ai benchmark basati su applicazioni reali. Ovviamente usiamo le ultimissime versioni dei programmi. Tra i benchmark più “stressanti” per le macchine c'è Nuendo 2.0 di Steinberg: lo usiamo con un file di progetto audio da più di 2 GB calcolato con una scheda audio di fascia alta (Aureon 7.1 Space di Terratec) con frequenza di campionamento di 96 KH a 32 bit. Il processore più veloce, il Pentium 4 di Intel, ce la fa in meno di tre minuti!

Nel caso di Mathematica 5.0 abbiamo inserito una formula ultra complessa che l'Athlon 64 FX ha risolto in soli 5,7 secondi! Tutti già conoscerete i tre programmi di rendering professionale 3D Studio Max 5.1 (presto disponibile in versione 6), Cinema 4D XL 8.1 e Lightwave 7.5c (presto disponibile in versione 8).
