Abbiamo testato Ryzen 3 sulla stessa piattaforma usata per Ryzen 5, con una scheda madre poco costosa MSI B350 Tomahawk (110 euro circa). È una scheda che permette l'overclock e che ci ha permesso di portare il 1300X a 4 e 3,9 GHz (laboratorio Germania e Italia / USA rispettivamente). In entrambi i casi il sistema è rimasto stabile per tempi prolungati.

Un particolare interessante di questa scheda è il sensore di temperatura nell'area del socket. Ci torneremo più avanti, perché ci ha permesso di raccogliere alcuni dati interessanti.
La MSI B350 Tomahawk è una scheda madre AM4 basata sul chipset B350. Offre quattro slot DDR4 ma ne abbiamo usati solo due (2x8 GB DDR4-3200). C'è un solo slot PCIe 3.0 x16, un PCIe 2.0 x4, due PCIe 2.0 x1 e due slot PCI di vecchia generazione. È integrato anche un codec audio 7.1, una porta Ethernet, quattro SATA 6 Gb/s, un connettore M.2, e come sempre porte USB 3.0 (Type C e A).
Abbiamo montato il sistema di riferimento e quelli di confronto in un banchetto e installato sistemi di dissipazione a liquido come il Corsair H115i ma anche una soluzione più sofisticata come l'Alphacool Eiszeit 2000.
