Ubuntu 14.10 si chiama Utopic Unicorn, l'unicorno utopico. È il nome ufficiale scelto proprio nelle scorse ore, che come fa seguito a Trusty Tahr (Ubuntu 14.10), Saucy Salamander (13.10), Raring Ringtail (13.04) e tutti gli altri che sono venuti prima.
La notizia è stata data dal fondatore di Canonical Mark Shuttleworth, che ha pubblicato un articolo acutamente intitolato "U Talking to me?". Il titolo riprende la lettera "U" (i nomi seguono l'ordine alfabetico), e cita l'indimenticabile De Niro in Taxi Driver (1976). L'articolo è fortunatamente un po' meno aggressivo e instabile del personaggio Travis Bickle.
Il post di Shuttleworth è senz'altro stato sfruttato anche per divertirsi con i giochi di parole, e sembra scritto più da uno scherzoso linguista che ha un programmatore e imprenditore. Vale la pena di goderselo in originale, se non altro per contare tutte le "U come in Unicorno Utopico".
