Ci saranno tre versioni del Mobility Radeon 9700:
- La prima è un chip senza memoria video, che può utilizzare interfaccia di memoria a 64 o a 128 Bit. Questo porta alle possibili configurazioni seguenti:
- 32MB/64 bit - 2pcs 4Mx32
- 64MB/128 bit - 4pcs 4Mx32
- 128MB/128 bit - 4pcs 8Mx32
In aggiunta ci saranno due modelli equipaggiati con fino 128MB di memoria video integrata.
- 64MB/128 bit (4pcs 4Mx32)
- 128MB/128 bit (4pcs 8Mx32)
Secondo ATi la maggior parte dei notebook basati su tecnologia M11 sarà equipaggiata con 64 or 128MB di memoria e interfaccia a 128Bit .
Configurazione di Prova
Per il test abbiamo ricevuto un prototipo di notebok di classe "desktop replacement" da un produttre che ha deciso di non rendere noto il proprio nome. Per ragioni di segretezza non abbiamo quindi scattato foto ma pubblicheremo solo schede techiche. In seguito lo chiameremo Blackbox-M11. Come confronto useremo due notebook della stessa categoria, il Dell Inspiron 8600, che monta il chip grafico NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5650 e uno basato su Athlon 64 con GPU MR9600.
For this test, we had a prototype notebook of the class at our disposal produced by an A-brand manufacturer who wishes to remain unnamed. For reasons of secrecy, we agreed not to take any photographs of the notebook and to publish only the technical specifications relevant for this test. In the following, we will call this notebook the Blackbox-M11. To place the scores achieved by this notebook in a frame of reference, we added the results of two other desktop replacement notebooks. On the one hand we had the Dell Inspiron 8600, which uses an NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5650 graphics chip, on the other an Athlon64 Notebook based on the MR9600 GPU.

Naturalmente ci interessava anche determinare il gap prestazionale tra piattaforma portatile e PC desktop. Quindi abbiamo inserito nel confronto con il Blackbox-M11 anche un desktop con dotazioni comparabili.
