La rivista Fortune, dopo aver etichettato Steve Jobs come "il businessman più influente del mondo", lo premia anche con il primo posto nella sua classifica dei 25 dirigenti più potenti del pianeta.
Secondo la rivista, tale scelta è stata dettata dall'enorme successo di Apple, raggiunto in cinque mercati di rilievo: computer (ha rivoluzionato il mondo dell’informatica), Hollywood (enorme proposta cinematografica su iTunes Store), musica (iTunes Store), vendita al dettaglio (Apple Store) e telefonia mobile (iPhone).
