Oltre al confronto tra la CPU desktop e quella notebook, eravamo curiosi di vedere quanto fosse più potente la nuova soluzione mobile rispetto al modello di punta della precedente generazione. Per farlo abbiamo usato un Core Core i7 940XM (mobile), da confrontare con un Core i7 980X (desktop). In entrambi i casi la scheda video era una Nvidia GeForce GTX480M.
Per il confronto tra processori della stessa generazione invece, abbiamo usato un Core i7 980X con Radeon HD 6970M a un Core i7 2920XM dotato della stessa GPU.
