Note di laboratorio
Tutti i benchmark sono stati effettuati con HyperThreading disabilitato. Test preliminari hanno rivelato che la tecnologia di Intel rallenta molte applicazioni Workstation.
Diversamente dagli altri test effettuati su questa tipologia di sistemi, abbiamo utilizzato Windows XP anziché Windows 2000.
Recentemente, abbiamo ricevuto molte mail in cui si chiedeva la motivazione per cui si continuava ad utilizzare il benchmark SPECapc 3D Studio Max nella versione 4.2.6, dato che sul mercato era già disponibile la versione 6. La motivazione è da ricercare nel fatto che non è ancora presente uno script ufficiale che possa funzionare correttamente con la versione 6. Alcune prove effettuate con i files presenti nel CD tutorial di 3DSM 6 hanno prodotto risultati non affidabili. Anche il nuovo driver "Maxtreme 6" di NVIDIA non ha risolto i problemi riscontrati.
