Nuovi Benchmark
Con l'obiettivo di descrivere nel migliore dei modi le prestazioni dei nuovi processori, abbiamo aggiunto alla nostra suite di benchmark ulteriori tre test. Prima di tutto, abbiamo utilizzato Microsoft Visual Studio .NET per compilare un codice sorgente (Emule 0,24b). Il secondo programma utilizzato è il WinBackup. Questo software crea pacchetti di dati compressi e criptati a 128 bit. In questo test i risultati sono stati molti interessanti, dato che il programma sfrutta molto l'energica unità floating point dei processori AMD, mentre Intel può trarre beneficio dall'architettura Hyper Threading. Infine, abbiamo utilizzato Cool Edit 2.1 di Syntrillium, un software per audio-editing. In questo caso abbiamo preso un file non compresso da 2.6 GB, nel formato WAV, e lo abbiamo normalizzato (0 dB).
